As an initiative started in 2024 based on conversations at the Doha, Qatar CCUF meeting, the CCUF MG worked with the iTC Chairs Working Group to begin formal recognition of the effort individuals put in to working in various Technical Communities. As this work is voluntary, and the payoff for it can take years, it can be difficult to maintain the community participation against work requirements from our day-to-day jobs.
The goal of contributor awards is to recognize the efforts put into moving forward the various TCs. While this is the primary focus, recognition is intended to call out efforts that have been seen as valuable within the community as a whole. Nominations today are focused on participation within the Technical Communities, and are provided from the Chairs of those TCs. Other nominations are allowed and considered by the CCUF MG and can be made here.
The awards are made publicly during the CCUF Update at the opening plenary session in the ICCC.
The CCUF MG thanks all these contributors for their efforts in each TC.
